Lessons 

At Symphony 9 School, we believe that while playing solo is rewarding, nothing compares to the energy of a group! Our teachers are all passionate musicians who love to perform with others, and we want our students to experience that same creative bond and joy.

Eligibility & Placement Our ensemble and band programs are designed for students who have completed at least one year of private lessons and possess fundamental note-reading skills. To ensure a rewarding experience for everyone:

• Skill-Matched Grouping: We offer different levels from beginner to advanced.

• Custom Arrangements: Our experienced teachers custom-arrange music to fit each student’s current level.

• Peer Groups: Students practice with peers of a similar age.

• Performance Goals: Every group works toward a live performance!​

Not only are group classes fun and a great way to create lasting friendships, but they also drastically enhance musical technique and aural skills. By playing in a "real-life" setting, students understand exactly why technical precision matters:

• Pitch & Intonation: Developing accuracy while playing with others.

• Dynamics & Musicality: Mastering volume and phrasing to achieve a satisfying group result.

Exams & Competitions

Our ensembles are also eligible for formal exams and competitions. If you are interested in these opportunities, let us know and we will prepare your group accordingly to meet all specific requirements and high standards.
